What is bail?

Bail is a financial guarantee that the arrested person, or defendant, will appear in court for their scheduled hearing(s). Bail is set by a judge, who considers various factors in setting the amount, such as severity of charge, criminal history, community ties, and flight risk.

What is a bail bond?

A bail bond is a financial agreement that allows the arrested person, or the defendant, to be released from custody prior to their appearance in court. The defendant (or their representative) and the bail bond company enter into a written agreement and the bond agency posts the full bail amount. This allows for the arrested person, or defendant, to be released from custody.

How are fees determined?

Bail amounts are determined by a judge and based on various factors, such as the nature of the charges and the individual’s criminal history. Bail bond fees are regulated by the State of Florida, the standard being 10% of the full bond amount and 15% for Federal bonds. Bail bond fees are non-refundable, regardless of case outcome.

What if I can’t afford bail?

We are here to help and work with you. We offer payment plans and many bonds require no more than a signature, proof of a stable job or steady income, and a permanent address – no collateral required.
